Christmas 2008

Christmas Eve

He really exists! After 3 years of dating, we finally get to meet Jake!

With Steph living in Flagstaff and with everyone's work schedules, we have been trying to get these kids together for a picture. Finally we did it, here are all the grandchildren. Stephanie (23) Serena (13) Alyssa (18) Tiffany (9) Kyle (20)

Christmas morning before heading to Disneyland.

Disneyland the day after Christmas, with over 64,000 people.

This was a rough ride with a 9 year old at the wheel!

The longest line was for "it's a small world"....

still waiting...Can you tell Kyle was thrilled to be waiting over an hour for this ride? I believe his words were, "Are you kidding me?".

we are on!!
California Adventures

I guess Bobby went around taking pictures of himself while we were on the rides.
Disney at night

Main street with a few of our closest friends. Did I mention CLOSE?

Guess what Tiffany spotted in Downtown Disney? Yes, another one. I think this makes 25 build-a-bears for her.

After spending 26 hours (in 2 days) at Disneyland we were off to the beach.
Huntington Beach

Heading home....

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas spent with family and friends!

2nd Annual Flower St. hayride

The goodies were prepared and delivered,
a few eaten,

but most, made it onto the trays that were carefully arranged...
for the Tartesso teachers and our fire department.

With the carolers on board,
and a driver in place,
we bundled up warmly and headed to the very first place.

To Mrs. Mertens', Mrs. Smith's, then to Mrs. Gallo's we went, singing and greeting everyone that we met.

Then off to the Barnett's and the Henson's we go, only to find out that they were not at home.
Next to the firehouse and Mrs. Taylor's to sing, then that was the end of our caroling. Once back on our street, we picked up a few more, then circled around the blocked once more. And they heard us exclaim as we drove out of their sight, Merry Christmas to all, from Flower St. tonight!!

Parties and Programs

We have been busy with Christmas parties and programs the last few days. (For some reason the blogarazzi did not show up at any of these events. Whats up with that??) Last Friday night we had my staff party where Bobby found out what great people I work with. It was nice getting to know their spouses and visit with them outside of school. On Saturday night, we went to the Bible's home for a Sunday School fellowship that we enjoyed and then on Sunday afternoon we took the Bible's to "Festival of Lights" at Palmcroft. It was great as usual, but I sure do miss being up there.

Tuesday night was Tiffany's music program for school. Baca, Padaddy, Mamaw and Poppy were able to come over for dinner before heading to the program with us. The kids have been working hard on this and it showed!! As you can see, the stage looked fabulous! Here are the 4th graders from the 3 schools in our district.
Tiffany is the reindeer with the letter "B".

These reindeers have some major ATTITUDE going on!!! (Tiffany is on the top with the red hat.)
Today was the first annual, Reindeer Run at the school. We have had a lot of rain but reindeer run must go on, so we moved to plan B which worked out fine! Since we are not using the upstairs rooms yet, it was moved up there where the kids moved from station to station participating in a fitness activity. From what I could tell they all had a fun day. Here is Tiffany's class before heading to the Reindeer Run.The kids enjoyed seeing us in our reindeer antlers when they came to lunch.Tomorrow is my Christmas party with the kitchen staff from all the schools then Flower Street will have our second annual caroling hayride through Tartesso on Sunday night to deliver goodies to our teachers.

Those days are gone!!

Long gone are the days of getting my shopping done in October, but now I can sit back and enjoy the season because, "I'm ready"!! The house is decorated (see post from Nov. 30th for pics), gifts are all bought and wrapped, and the cards are in the mail with 18 days left until Christmas!!!
The gifts are upstairs under the game room tree to try and keep Miley out of them!
