Black Friday Success

Got up at 3:30 this morning in order to get to Wal-mart to do some shopping. I used to get up and do this every black Friday, but hadn't done it for a while. When I arrived at 4:15, the parking lot was full and everyone was inside. What? It was crazy! Back in the electronics there were lines everywhere. Lines for TV's, lines for DS's, lines for cameras, etc. They had shrink wrapped and guarded pallets everywhere but you couldn't get to the product until 5:00, when the sale started. When 5:00 came, wow, the shrink wrap was cut and people started grabbing. I came away with what I went for and was back home by 5:40. Not bad! I went out again about 11:30. Petsmart, Kohl's and Joanne's and again left with everything on my shopping list. I can now say that I have started my Christmas shopping. Good day!

Thanksgiving Day

I am thankful for my family.
Too often I hear from others about how their families don't get along. Not our case, we even vacation together! Here are some shots from the day.

Kids at play.

I am looking forward to seeing more of these two when we move.

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving with friends and family.

Happy Birthday

to my sister who was born on Thanksgiving Day.

Results...

We finally received the results from Tiff's CAT scan and MRI. I was a little worried when the doctors said that he had never seen this before and had the other doctor take a look at her ear because it was so unusual. Anyway, the mass behind her ear drum is her carotid artery. He said it took an abnormal course during development, traveling along the medial wall of the middle ear cavity which is the reason she has hearing loss. It's not dangerous for her but we need to make sure all doctors know that she can never have any ear surgery. We are thankful it wasn't anything more. Thanks for your prayers!

Bummer!

I hadn't planned on it, but I had my portrait taken while I was on my way to the vet this morning. I was only going 5 over the speed limit and saw the flash go off. Darn it! I am hoping it was the motorcyclist that was passing me by. If it was me, this will be my first ever, in my life, traffic ticket. Yes, in all my years of driving I have never been pulled over or gotten any kind of a ticket. Life goes on.

Phoenix Children's Hospital

We took Tiffany in for her CAT scan and MRI today. She did really good, even fell asleep during the MRI. It was a long afternoon but it's done. Now we just have to wait for the results.

A wedding, a wedding....

and another wedding. That's what I have been up to. Yesterday I took the day off from work to deliver and set up a wedding at Orange Tree Golf Resort in Scottsdale for Lorie.

Then, today I went back to Scottsdale for a wedding at Gainey Ranch Golf Club.

Then drove back to Lorie's house in Peoria, picked up the last load and met up with her at the Blackstone Country Club in Vistancia.

Look who was there working. It's Ashley's mom.
Turns out Ashley was suppose to be working the wedding also, but was at home sick.

This is so much fun, it doesn't even seem like work! Lorie does such a great job designing, everyone always loves her work. She is still not done. She has another wedding tomorrow!

Progress!

Tiffany has been taking band for about a month now. She went from not being able to blow the thing, to 2 songs that she can play.

Mary had a little lamb.....

and Twinkle, twinkle little star.

She is still working on this one.

On Thursday, we had our 1st quarter awards assembly. The PE teacher gave Tiffany a certificate that read, Most Well Behaved Student at Tartesso Elementary. (in PE) What? Are you kidding me? The principal asked her what her favorite sport was and she said basketball. News to me. Anyway, she also was awarded a certificate for perfect attendance and on the honor roll for the 1st quarter. Awesome, Tiff!

What a sport!

While I was delivering and setting up weddings for Lorie, Bobby was at home doing the laundry and selling snacks at the park for the PTO, for me. Not exactly what you want to do on your birthday, but he did it anyway. Gotta love this guy! Happy Birthday!

Frustrating, Exhausting....

that is what I have to say about my first day of fall break. Today was the day that Tiffany was suppose to go in for her CAT scan and MRI but she was sick earlier in the week so we had to reschedule the procedures. I had been putting off the blood work, so today I thought we would get it done. I scheduled the appointment so we wouldn't have to wait too long but still waited 40 minutes (with her complaining that she was tired and hungry) before she was called back. We get that done and then we go in for the urine sample. She couldn't go, so we went to get some lunch and came back. Still nothing so we left again and went to Sam's Club and back. Again, nothing. Did I mention that I had already gone 3 times myself! I waited 4 hours, that's 4 hours for her to go, which explains the title of this post!!!! I didn't make my other stops before heading home and went immediately upstairs to take a nap.

We have......

a honor roll student living here!!
Way to go, Tiffany!! Keep up the good work!

Birthday Gold!!

The health inspector stopped by and gave me a gold star for my birthday. Yes!
