Rookie Teacher

Celebrities!

While Tiff is at band, I like to go into the gym and watch the girls basketball game. This week they played against Sundance where Kyle and Ashley teach so they came to watch. When they walked in, you would have thought they were celebrities. The girls yelled "Hi Mrs. Brannon and Mr. B" waving to them across the gym. Then a shy little girl came up behind Kyle, tapped him on the shoulder and quietly said, "Hi Mr. B." Very cool to see how the students react to them.

Practicing pays off!

After only playing 2 weeks on the trumpet, Tiffany decided to skip challenging the 2nd chair player and challenged the 1st chair and won. She is now playing 1st chair trumpet! I'm so proud of her!

Loud!

Less than a week after trading her flute in for the trumpet, Tiffany practices often and is already playing songs. She is definitely enjoying the switch. Mom, Dad and all the neighbors are wondering why we let her. It's loud!!

Thinking I could use some earplugs! Tiffany has decided so give up the flute for a trumpet. Much louder!!

Interesting!

Tomorrow, Kyle will be Tiff's substitute teacher. Man, would I like to be a fly on the wall in that classroom. Maybe I'll volunteer tomorrow!

Things are looking up!

A new renter for the old place so we are not responsible for the rent there anymore and a district-wide band beginning tomorrow for Tiffany. 2011 is off to a great start! Now, pray for jobs!!

On the way....

Nice thing about living in Buckeye- My friends will visit and spend the night on their way to California! Drive carefully, Susie!

Scary!

So sad. Tiffany went to the library at her new school today after school so when she left, there weren't any kids around. She took a wrong turn and ended up getting lost or should I say, took the long way home.

I took her back to the school and guided her home. For a short moment I thought maybe she needed a cell phone but then I thought again. Nope, not until she starts driving. I'm sticking to that!

New School

Tiffany asked me, "Why do kids get nervous when they start a new school"? Then I was reminded that this is her 5th school and she is only in the 6th grade. 3 of the 5 were in the same district, just new schools opened so she went to the new school. I think I'm more nervous for her. Praying for a good teacher and some good friends!

Tiffany was finally able to try out her gift today. Oops, didn't think it would take 18 hours to charge up the battery.
