I traded in my keys for a chef's coat, an apron and gloves!! In order for me to take the day off on Friday, I have had to train one of my workers to run the register. All this week I will be working at the serving line so she can get some experience on the register. Anyone hungry!!

Save money...
plan ahead!! I reserved our hotel at a great price (thanks, Steph) and purchased our Disneyland tickets today for when we go with the Brannon side of the family in December. The last time we were there Tiffany was 3 and afraid of all the characters...
and would only ride the Dumbo ride. Hmmm...
Come to think of it, the only ride Bobby was on was this scooter!!
Anyway, it got us to the front of the line!!

Day of Appointments
It was early release at school today so I scheduled appointments for the afternoon. When you live way out here and gas the price that it is, you schedule all that you can while you are in town. Here's how we did it. Tiff and I dropped Miley off to be groomed at 1:15. Then, I took Tiff to her 2:00 dentist appointment where we met up with Bobby because I had to be at my doctor's appointment at 2:30. Bobby and Tiff then picked up Miley on their way home. When I got back from my appointment, it was off to grab a bite to eat and then drop Bobby off at the church for men's bible study before taking Tiffany to tennis lessons. Then, back to the church to pick him up before heading home for the night. Finally, I am at home to stay. It was amazing that we made it to all the appointments on time. I only had 1 problem, it was a bloggers nightmare, a camera with a dead battery! Yes, I pulled out the camera to take some pictures of Tiffany at her tennis lessons and couldn't get one picture. You can bet next week I will have my camera ready to go!! Anyway, the groomers said Miley did really good for a first time puppy and Tiffany looked great on the tennis court.

It's Monday...
which means Kyle and Ashley come over after they observe at the middle school and Bobby would say, the night he gets a home cook meal. (Trust me folks, he doesn't go without a meal.)
After dinner, they played with Miley in the yard. Watch as she runs then plops herself down to take a rest. She should sleep well tonight!!

Discovery!
Miley has discovered that these 2 flights of stairs lead to a whole new world. When she stops, it's as if she is rethinking her decision on going up.

Day on the town
We went into town (Glendale) to pick up a couch for my Mom so we decided to go to the old neighborhood where LA dance was having a car wash. All the Porter girls were there except for Laura and Emma.
Tiffany has been wanting to go to Petsmart and take Miley, so, on our home we ran in and bought some puppy treats and Tiffany bought this cute little carrier with her own money. Do you see Miley in there?

New trick
This is what happens when girls with lots of build-a-bear clothes come over to play with Miley. Suddenly, they don't need the stuffed animal to dress up, they have Miley! Here she is sporting the cheerleader outfit.

Oh no, whats wrong?
Some of you have been asking for an update on Miley. She is doing a lot better, in fact, last night I put her in bed at 8:30 sharp just like the last couple of nights (consistency, suggestion made by a neighbor) and she didn't even make a peep. I didn't hear her at all during the whole night and actually woke up thinking something was wrong with her. Bobby said he heard her 2 times but I'm not so sure of that. Let's remember the night she cried all night long and he didn't hear anything. Hmmm... I think Tiffany gets her selective hearing from her father.

Thanks!
I was given quit a few suggestions and what I did worked, at least for last night! After playtime and a potty break, Miley was in bed at 8:30. NO night light and NO radio just Miley and her new bone pillow that has a soothing heartbeat. She cried for about a minute and then it was silent. I crossed my fingers and decided to go on to bed (since I had no sleep the night before). She woke up 2 times in the middle of the night but she only cried for about 15 seconds and then it was quiet again. In the morning, I noticed that she had gone potty on her piddle pad in the middle of the night. Love those things!! Then outside she went to poop and potty and start a new day. Keep the ideas coming!!

Puppy for sale!!
Just kidding, but I sure had a rough night! After trying everything I could think of, I turned on the radio, closed the laundry room door and closed our bedroom door to muffle the sound. Not a good night!!
HELP!!
Miley has been crying and barking for almost 3 hours now!! Bobby and Tiffany just sleep right through it but I can't and I have to get up in 4 hours and go to work. Any suggestions?? I'll try anything!!

Puppy must have!!
When I bought these I wasn't sure if they would work, but they do!! Today while we were at church, Miley was at home alone for the first time. When we came home she was in her bed, no poop in site and she had gone potty on her piddle pad. I don't know what's in them to make them use it but it's a must have! So far, so good!!

"1 spoiled puppy"...
is what the cashier at Walmart said today when I went in for a few things. Have you seen all the things they have for dogs? Maybe they have been there for a while, however I never had to go down that aisle before. Couldn't pass up some stuff!
After dinner, Tiffany took Miley for a walk with her new leash. Or should we say attempted to take her for a walk. Hopefully she is tired from all the days events that she sleeps better tonight!

Miley's first night
We heard a little bit of crying every 2-3 hours but it wasn't too long before she fell back to sleep. We are hoping she gets better with each night! Tiffany was up at 5:00 and had her out for a potty break, fed, brushed down and was playing with her before I got out of bed. All the girls in the neighborhood are giving her lots of attention which means 5-6 girls at the house all the time. I wonder how long that will last?? We went for a ride to the mailbox and she likes to lay in my lap while I am blogging.
Here are some more pictures from today.
Sorry, we have a lot of blogging moments to share!

The secret got out!!
As I mentioned in the earlier post, we have been looking for a puppy for Tiffany and hadn't said anything to her about it. Well, I had to tell her the secret early because she was throwing a fit!! (That's right, she throws a fit and comes out with a puppy. What's wrong with that picture?) Since school was canceled for today, one of the neighbors decided to take all the girls to Build a Bear and of course Tiff wanted to go. (Like she needs another stuffed animal.) I told her she couldn't go because we had something else planned for the afternoon. She was very upset and I told her that she would like our surprise better but she didn't believe me. I gave in and told her. She stopped throwing her fit and was soooo excited! On the way, we started coming up with some names. Roxy, Chloe, Molly, Sadie, Cali and Miley are just a few we came up with.
All the puppies looked just the same, but she chose the smallest of the two females. So, meet Miley!! She is 11 weeks old. We still have to come up with her registered name so we are open for suggestions.
We met the breeder in Fountain Hills and this is what we listened to on the way home and probably what we will hear throughout the night! I said "what have we done" and Bobby said no, what have YOU done? Anyway, Tiffany has a new puppy to take care of.
In case you were wondering, Miley is puppy 2.

Update...
This could be the day! I found 2 female puppies on Monday but they were located in Pinetop (where we were last weekend). The owner said she would be willing to meet me somewhere but not until the weekend so I told her I would call to see if she still had the females toward the end of the week. Last night I called and I was surprised she still had them (the females go fast usually, at least the ones in our price range). She is bringing them into town today and we will be on our way in just a while, unless she has sold them in the last few hours.
Puppy 1
Puppy 2
Check back to see if we actually come home with one.

Another night of storms
This one wasn't that great! Strong winds with blowing dust that created a power outage for 15 hours!!! Thank goodness it was nice out so we open all the windows and were able to sleep a little. Here are some of the girls at 4:00 in the morning, sitting on the sidewalk, gathered around a flash light.
Some of the neighbors gathered in front of our house. This was about 6:00 as the sun was starting to rise. Oh darn, school was cancelled!

Strange Storm
This afternoon we had a storm come through. Just when we thought it was over, another storm would come. We had a lot of wind and rain. You know this doesn't happen often when all the neighbors come out to watch.

WARNING.... You are about to be shocked!!
Believe it or not, I spent this weekend looking for a puppy. Even more shocking, an indoor dog!! (I think Tiffany would do better with a little lap dog.) I was looking only at certain breeds since Tiffany seems to be allergic to fur so this narrows the field and we are not wanting to pay a huge amount. Every time I would find one, the females would be gone. Hmmm...is this a sign that Tiffany should just keep enjoying the neighbors pets?
After church we had to wait for Tiffany's allergy meds to be filled so we went into PetsMart to pass the time. Guess what was in there, this cute little puppy, one of the kinds that I had been looking for. A shih tzu, isn't she cute?I also found a schnoodle and a snorkie on line that I thought were cute, but what will they look like full grown?
Help Tiffany find a puppy! Be on the lookout for the breeds that have hair instead of fur and that don't shed and are less than $200. Is that too much to ask? Let us know what you find. By the way, I didn't tell Tiff that we were looking, so there is no disappointment for her. I know all of you think that it is awful that she has never had a pet, so, let the search begin and if you feel led to give a monitary donation for this cause, please feel free. lol

Weekend Get-away
It's Labor Day weekend and we are getting out of this heat!!
Saturday morning we met up with the Bible's and headed up north for a nice weekend with the Thomas' at their cabin in Pinetop. Our neighbor, Alexa, joined Tiffany for the weekend. We weren't even to Fountain Hills when that little question was asked. You know, "are we almost there"? After about 4 1/2 hours we made it!
Before we could even get settled in, Bobby was preparing to head to the lake for some fishing. We all went to the lake and waited....
and waited...
but nothing was caught except this little guy!
The girls took time to stop and smell the flowers.
The next day, the fishermen and Teresa headed out for some more fishing. They fished for hours in the rain. I'm glad I stayed back at the cabin this time but they didn't seem to mind the rain. All, except Teresa caught at least one fish. Poor Teresa, she will never hear the end of that one from Bobby, but boy did she try!! The girls watch as Anthony cleans the fish. Their faces tell it all!!
We had a lot of fun playing games and we learned a new way to play CLR. With money!! Yes, we taught the kids to GAMBLE. What have we done? Look at the girls faces as they exchange money! (Watch out, Baca and Padaddy, Tiffany is going to want to play it this way, all the time!) Not that it would make it any better, but I should mention that we each put in only $3.00 and I put in money for the girls so they were not using their own money. Is this how gambling addictions get started? Shh!! Don't tell my parents!
Ashlyn was the big winner!
Sunday evening we enjoyed our bible study led by Anthony.
We had a great time of fellowship but now it's time to head home after a great weekend, but not before some pictures of everyone.
James, Teresa, & Ashlyn Bible and Paige (Ashlyns friend)
Sherry and Anthony Thomas
We had this great idea that we would leave in the morning to avoid the traffic in the afternoon. As you can see, everyone else had the same idea.
Thanks Sherry and Anthony for a great weekend!!
