Update...
This could be the day! I found 2 female puppies on Monday but they were located in Pinetop (where we were last weekend). The owner said she would be willing to meet me somewhere but not until the weekend so I told her I would call to see if she still had the females toward the end of the week. Last night I called and I was surprised she still had them (the females go fast usually, at least the ones in our price range). She is bringing them into town today and we will be on our way in just a while, unless she has sold them in the last few hours.

You should take both - two dogs are easier to deal with than one - just like two kids are easier than one - that's my two cents - even though you didn't ask for it!! They are cute!!!
They are both real cute. We'll be anxious to hear the outcome!
